Tuscany in Italy - Val D'Orcia September 2011Join me on this fabulous trip to Tuscany, the weather should be just perfect for us, not too hot but bright and sunny, the trees and vineyards will just be staring to turn a golden colour giving us pleanty of wonderful atmosphere to make our paintings perfect! On each one week holiday there are five full days of tuition. I will be joining you on all of the excursions, so you will need to bring your sketch books art materials and a camera! (art boards and stools will all be provided) We will have time for painting, sight seeing and enjoying the Italian food and of course the wine.This is a wonderful opportunity to paint in Italy and receive tuition from either myself or Terry Harrison. We will be teaching two groups for two single consecutive weeks in this most beautiful area. At the end of the day we pop in to Pienza for a brief exploration of this stunning town. Down by the river - We spend the morning in Bagno Vignoni, beneath the covered loggia and beside the warm waters of the ancient baths. We will spend the day beside an old well beneath San Quirico, amidst fields from where we look up at the old town. Mixing in Montepulciano, we are privileged to be based in the grounds of the private Palazzo Massaini – the early 17th-century Papal summer residence with a very pretty courtyard inside the house, lovely grounds and formal gardens. On the way home we stop in Montepulciano for sight-seeing. Free day A chance to enjoy the pool, explore the old town or spend the day in the irresistibly classic city of Siena. Old haunts - A final day based in San Quirico with a chance to revisit the many locations or rework a previous one before our light-hearted evening exhibition. Departure day - We depart for Rome airport after an early breakfast. Note: This is a selection of the many options available.
