This DVD has been produced after many requests from painters having watched my flower demonstrations around the UK. All of the techniques shown on the DVD are clear, simple and achievable.
Section 1
The Techniques (using the Pyramid, Stippler and Golden Leaf brushes)
Using single brush strokes - leaves, ferns, viola leaves, cyclamen leaves and rose buds. Using stippling techniques – hebes, buddleia and similar flowers, with added leaves.
Multiple brush strokes – various leaves with veins, full roses, open roses, directional flowers, and attaching leaves.
Tips on - Allowing the paint to mix on the paper, painting stalks, paint consistency, double loading, priming your brushes, working on wet paper, damp paper and controlling the wetness of the surface, painting berries.
Section 2
Putting it all together in a complete painting which includes open roses, rose buds, leaves, buddleia, foliage and berries.
A tracing layout is included to help you succeed with this main painting as well as clear instructions right through from transferring the layout onto your paper right to the finished brush stroke. Beginning with working wet into wet, and then working on the dry paper, using all of the techniques covered on the DVD building up the painting step-by-step.

The filming for this DVD was done in the studio here in Bourton-on-the-Water by a professional film maker, giving a personal insight as to how I use watercolour. It is a beautifully filmed DVD with sumptuous close ups, ensuring you see how the colours merge wet into wet as well as the vital brush close ups enabling you to watch how to 'catch' colours and link wet into wet sections together.
This DVD is an ideal accompanyment to the book Ready To Paint Vibrant Flowers which includes all of the tracing layouts.
I explain everything as I go along, completing four projects.
The Sunflowers project, which appears on the front cover of the book (and DVD).
A Tulips project which is an A4 format taken from the original layout.
The Poppies project
The Lilies project - this is the bonus project.
The Lilies layout is availalble in the book but there are no step by step instructions in the book.
The DVD has each project availalble separately in the menu section as well as a lovely introduction filmed in the village of Bourton-on-the-Water.
