Getting very messy but having fun.......
Thursday May 25, 2023
You may be forgiven for thinking I have disappeared, but I am taking this summer off to paint, be creative, visit galleries, and be inspired so that I can return in September full of new ideas and enthusiasm.
I will still be on Facebook just posting less and painting more.
Have a wonderful summer everyone.

I shall be at Batsford Arboretum on Friday 12th May 2023 signing my books, demonstrating and chatting. I’ll be there from 10.00 - 16.00 indoors just before the entrance into the Arboretum. The event is FREE and you can pop over, say hello, grab yourself a coffee and watch some painting ☺️ if you buy my book, I’ll sign it and you’ll get access to my support films on Facebook.

At last we are able to paint together again afterwards seems like such a long time.
I’m sure many of you have found painting on your own challenging at times, interacting with others and being able to see what other people achieve within a group setting is always positive, and at last we seem to be able to enjoy workshops and demonstrations again.
At one of my workshops this week I was demonstrating brush techniques, loading a brush and how to use a brush and one participant said to me ‘I have watched so many YouTube clips but no one has told me this’  you can really only learn so much from YouTube, the teaching is very much one way you can’t ask questions and there’s no interaction. Nothing beats interacting with others and having someone watch you paint observe you and help you
If you’ve never attended a workshop I would strongly recommend you join one.

Zoom is a wonderful way to enjoy a demonstration from my studio, tailored towards your group, no matter where you are based.
I am able to work on a flat surface using watercolour, enabling me to demonstrate some wonderful techniques which are not possible to show at an easel.
Pushing and pulling the colour, using 'rushing' colours and allowing the paint to flow across the paper.

If you would like to organise a demonstration you can either email me fiona@fionapeart.com or call me Tel: 01451 820014 to discuss what would be most appropriate for your group.
Demonstrations are designed to take approximately 2 hours including a short break.

I know many of you, particularly those who live on their own may be finding the prospect of self isolation daunting, and as this pandemic escalates, more of us will be indoors.

I have decided to devise some painting projects which we can all enjoy, some will be simple warm up exercises, some will be complete projects. I will post them on my blog, (click on Blog on the main menu above) so if you put your email in the 'follow by email' box, my posts will pop into your inbox.

It was inevitable as the Coronavirus escalated throughout Europe that we would soon be affected here with similar sanctions.
Stay safe everyone, paint when you can and I will add posts to my blog to encourage you.
Keep in touch

Workshop dates for 2020
Thursday September 12, 2019

I so enjoyed painting with you all in 2019 after taking some time out, and although I don't intend to rush around the country demonstrating, I do want to make the time to paint with you all, so in 2020 I shall be offering a limited number of workshops.
I have dates booked so far, you need to book directly with the venues (details on the next page).

I am SO looking forward to painting with you next year

Teaching again in 2019
Thursday January 3, 2019

2019 has arrived and this year I shall be offering a limited number of workshops.
I have missed you all, and am so looking forward to catching up with those of you I have taught in the past, and meeting new artists who would like to paint with me this year.
I have booked two dates so far, you need to book directly with the venues (details on the next page).

I am SO looking forward to painting with you again!
Happy New year

Painting Again
Thursday June 28, 2018

For those of you that don't know, the reason I just stopped everything, painting, teaching, stopped all social media was because my wonderful husband Terry, passed away suddenly in June 2017.

This stopped me in my tracks.

It was like crashing into an invisible wall.

There were lots of lovely visitors at our Open Studio this year but the Chiltern Art Group created a news letter with photos after their visit and sent me a copy.
