It is wonderful being able to paint with you on a workshop and offer demonstrations in person, these live events are listed below including their organisers. However, these are limited to the distance I am prepared to travel to visit you. So
I am offering exciting
courses on FACEBOOK which are now available. These have limited places (max 14) keeping the group small enables me to give quality feedback on all of the lessons and keep in touch with you all regularly. I am SO enjoying connecting with painters from all over the world in these groups. The next available group begins in September 2023 with bookings opening in mid August.
You need to book in advance of the course beginning to secure your place and ensure you have all the information and materials needed before the teaching begins. Registration closes 1 week after the course begins.

"Taking your ideas further"
This will be an exciting workshop for beginners and those who would like to learn more about colour, balance and design. These are such important aspects of any painting, no matter the subject.
During this workshop I will advise you how to brainstorm creative block, begin with a seed of an idea and develop that into a series of possible developed studies.
We will use a variety of these, creating layouts and compositions based on the principals of good design, tone and colour.
Come and join me on this exciting day which might take you in a direction you never thought about going in.
Windrush Workshops are held at a lovely location hosted beautifully and include a delicious lunch, teas coffees biscuits and cake! They are a delicious day out painting.

WATERCOLOUR WORKSHOP WINDRUSH

An Autumnal Composition - painting with freedom without any drawing.
This exciting workshop is ideal for beginners, those who have never learnt the basics of direct painting, or just want to refresh their skills.
During this workshop we will complete a number of studies as well as a painting which includes its planning, and composition without any drawing necessary on the paper.
We focus on many of the basics such as brush use, colour mixing, making colour choices, and completing several small studies whilst experimenting with different ways to achieve our goals.
You will decide on the size you wish to paint depending on your skill level, although I suggest that you work on paper no larger than 10” x 14” (about A4)
Everyone’s paintings will be unique, and our subject will be botanical, flowers such as asters as well as berries and leaves. You can use any colour choices you wish.
There will be demonstrations throughout the day and examples as well as reference photos to inspire you, just come along with your art materials and enjoy the day.

Watercolour Workshop Tewkesbury

Our theme is a beach walk and will include figures and dogs.
You may decide how mush or how little you include, and how many or how few figures. All our paintings will be different, but all using the same reference photos.
Exciting!
Beaches make a lovely subject for watercolour painting but adding life can dramatically change the outcome. Composition is key to a good painting so getting this right is vital. I will take you through my process of using photos to create a pleasing composition, giving you tips on what to look out for and what to avoid. I will show you how I move figures about until I have the ideal composition, after which I will demonstrate all the necessary techniques throughout the day to enable you to achieve a successful painting. No need to worry about your drawing skills, I will also have figure worksheets which you can use on the day.
